Hey Cysters! Are you planning any fun summer trips? We like to make sure we are feelin' our best before we travel...so we thought we'd share some of our favorite tips to stay healthy before you take off & help keep you healthy during your travels! ✈️

 

ALWAYS KEEP MOVIN'!
It's so important to keep your body movin' in general but especially important when you are traveling. Are you heading out for a long drive? Get out and walk around a bit for at a safe rest area every 2-3 hours. Get your blood pumping and then zip on out to your destination. Check out the gym at your hotel to get in a quick resistance training workout. Our favorite thing to do when traveling to the beach is to get in a brisk walk on the beach and watch the sun come up! It's spectacular! 
PRE-TRAVEL FUEL FOR PCOS
We can't express this enough... Fueling your body with healthy, nutritious foods before you board your flight is ESSENTIAL for your PCOS!! You want to aim to fuel your body with a lean proteins like chicken, a healthy fat like olive oil or avocados, and add some veggies! We love adding broccoli to some eggs in the morning. You can even add some leafy greens and make a hormone friendly protein smoothie with your BalanceHER
We love bringing snacks with us on trips! I am personally guilty of bringing the whole pantry with me! Ha! Our favorite snack choices are unsalted walnuts or almonds, sweet plantain chips for a little carb boost, and kale chips. They will leave you feeling full and satisfied which will help you not feel tempted to get "vaca-snacks."
HYDRATION IS A MUST!
Traveling can dehydrate you so it's KEY to drink enough water! You should be aiming to drink about half your body weight in ounces.  Coconut water is great too! It contains potassium and electrolytes, which both help keep you well-hydrated. We like to drink a bottle of water on the way to the airport and then again mid-flight to ensure we are staying hydrated enough. We love using reusable water bottles because it save us from having to buy $7 water bottles from the airport. 
THE TIME FOR SELF CARE IS NOW
Before you head out on your vacation be sure to take some time for you. Relaxing is so important for your immune system. Use the time on the plane or if you are riding shotgun in the car to practice some self-care. Take this time to put on an eye mask, listen to some relaxing music, and sip on some relaxing tea.
